But it is not everybody’s choice. Online business is risky, they say, and yes, they are right, but to me the risk worth taking. To me it is worth every penny, every late night, every weekend in front of PC learning, building content, every sweat and frustration you will experience when you star any business.
Monday morning. Beautiful hot almost summer day, forecast 31 degrees C. As I was pretty productive over the past weekend having had a bad stormy weather, I decided to take total advantage of my online business and take some time off. Why not go out on such a lovely day, take a nice long swim in the lake bordering with the residence where I live and enjoy a bit of peace, doing nothing, just reflecting, sunbathing and maybe share a nice cold beer with someone.
Ok, I didn’t share a beer with anyone, they were all at work! All my friends have opted for air-con open space 9-6 office jobs, so no, they can’t take a time off when they want unless they take approved holiday.
I slept in a bit first, I felt like another hour or two after I sent kids to school, so I did. After I did my casual mummy’s chores, put some washing on, I prepared my beach bag and off I went. I could not stop smiling thinking how great it feels to be your own boss and just be in charge of your day. No deadlines, no unpleasant meetings, no awfully hot offices or again, too cold, if you find some smart head mistaking air-con for fridge, no stress! Just going with a flow of the day and organising it accordingly. I could still find time to do some work in the evening, or then again, only if I wished.
I am really asking myself sometimes, why wouldn’t anybody want to do the same? I can never appreciate this sort of lifestyle enough especially after being employed for so long and running around like a race horse every day, kids, work, household… Looking back at it, only hell knows how I didn’t go crazy, how I actually managed it all. I mean, it seems physically impossible to manage all I used to manage in one day, so no wonder I was stressed and incapable of thinking straight. Honestly, looking back it seems to me like I didn’t even live, I was only in a surviving mode, a living dead.
But, it is over and I am living my dream life now towards which I worked so hard in last year and a half, or so. It was a long and difficult journey to place myself on this path, but worth taking and “risking”. It was worth every investment.
Having my own Online Business in 2017 makes sense to me because I love my FREEDOM.
